Care to Plunge into the Inner City of
For one week, we are going to stay with Trinity First Lutheran Church School to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the Phillips neighborhood, one of the most diverse neighborhoods in the entire
Trinity First Lutheran church school is a Christ Centered school that has been serving this neighborhood for over 140 years. They invite children preschool through 8th grade to be a part of their school regardless of parent’s ability to pay. It’s an amazing place of ministry. This summer they need help to support them in their summer program called
During the day, we will help students with math & reading, serve lunch, chaperone field trips, and build relationships with the children. These students are in need of caring people to come and share the love of Christ through respect, care, and role modelship.
In addition to supporting the school, in the evenings we will also do things like:
- Serve a meal on the streets to the homeless
- Support a homeless shelter
- Support an orphanage
- Service work around the city-park clean up
- Service projects at the church
- Participate in a worship service downtown
- Will have daily devotional & big group worship time
- On the last day we will go on a big group adventure to celebrate the week
