I enjoy serving as a member of the MLT (Management Leadership Team), FLT (Finance Leadership Team) and as a worship leader for Worship4HIM on Wednesdays and during church for KidTastic, TotTastic and FamTastic. I’ve become involved in missions and look forward to future involvement.

 

My occupation is in the accounting field working as a Financial Controller.

Alyssa - Age 23, Age 21, Mariah - Age 17, David - Age 16, Spencer - Age 15.

 

Graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a business major from Hamlin University in 1987. School of Hard knocks, still enrolled.

 

I have been involved in some type of ministry almost since the beginning.   I have lead many Sunday school classes ranging from Junior high to adults on subjects such as finances, evangelism, or the Book of Acts.  At my previous church I was a member of the board for about 10 years, headed up the Building program as well as a fundraising/stewardship campaign.  I participated in the worship ministry in a variety of ways.

 

At Horizon’s I periodically run the sound board on Sunday mornings and I am part of the Crown Financial Ministry, which put on the two day Vital Signs seminar last month.  I am involved in a men’s small group on Monday night.  My ministry passions are Outreach, because it makes an eternal difference and Crown Finances because I am proof that financial organization makes for better marriages.

 

I like Horizons because we are willing to change as the culture changes.  I believe that we need to keep the message of the gospel true to the bible, but that we will have to adapt our methods as times change.

Four kids, Bethany (9), Katelyn (7), Marcus (5), and Benjamin (4)

You can see my wife checking in children on Sunday morning or setting up classrooms before hand.  You can find me serving as a small group leader for 12th grade boys, building stage sets, or hanging by my normal corner on Sunday mornings.  If you need to find Marcus, just ask anyone.  He seems to be the most popular of the Andover V's.

 

Over the last 9 years, Horizons has dramatically changed our walk with God.  I came here as an unbeliever.  Through a long series of events, including reading books, joining a men's Bible study, and Jimmy's sermons, I accepted Christ as my savior.  Since that time, we have made huge, life altering, decisions after a gut churning sermon or some perfectly placed Godly wisdom from other Horizons family members.  We look forward to a long life as servants at Horizons Community Church.
